Paint Like a Woman 2026

Our continued effort to learn from important painters led to this spring’s course, Paint Like a Woman, 20th Century Woman Artists. Class members learned about inspirational women artists throughout the world who began to break the long-established barriers for women as artists. We learned about some of these women whose talent was recognized and respected, learned their style and technique, and then, at home, painted a work influenced by the artist. Irene Chou, Elaine de Kooning and Joan Mitchell, as well as some lesser-known artists, were discussed. Led by Kathy Webster and Susan Van Horne.
