Spring 2025
Our continued effort to learn from important painters led to this spring’s course, Paint Like a Woman, 19th and Early 20th Century Woman Artists, Part Two. Class members learned about inspirational women artists throughout the world who began to break the long-established barriers for women as artists. Each week, students met a different artist (including Frida Kahlo, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Lee Krasner, as well as some lesser-known artists) and then produced an artwork either inspired by that artist or students copied a work of that artist as a learning exercise. Susan Van Horne and Kathy Webster led this course.
